  • Aura Ink frames feature an e-paper display, which is built on minimal ink colors. Using Aura's proprietary dithering algorithm, these colors expand into the illusion of millions of tones. The result is photos with a softly lit, vintage look that feels more like a printed picture than a digital screen.

  • Designed for calmer living, Aura Ink frames automatically display a new photo overnight. You can also set your frame to update up to 12 times per day or use the on-frame buttons to change the photo manually. Want to see photos more frequently? Aura's LCD frames can display a new photo as often as every 15 seconds.

  • Because e-paper reflects ambient light (unlike a back-lit LCD), the Ink frames have a subtle built-in front light that automatically adjusts to the room’s brightness. You can also schedule the front light to turn on and off at set times.

  • When set to change photos once per day, your Aura Ink frame can last up to three months on a full charge. Battery life will vary based on the frequency of image updates, app and button usage, room lighting, whether the frame is in a high-traffic area, and other environmental factors. Aura will notify you in the app and by email when your frame's battery is running low.

  • You can add unlimited photos to your Aura Ink frame with no subscriptions or hidden fees. Aura frames receive new content via the cloud, so a Wi-Fi connection is necessary for your frame to display photos. The Ink frames do not support video or Live Photo playback.

  • The photo transition on your Aura Ink frame takes approximately 30 seconds and includes flashing on the screen as each color particle shifts to reveal the new photo. Unless you set your frame to update more frequently in the app, Ink will automatically transition to a new photo overnight.

  • Bright, clear photos with good contrast look especially nice on Aura Ink frames. In customer testing, favorites included close-ups and portraits, black-and-white photos, and colorful scenes.

  • Place your Aura Ink frame in a well-lit space, on a shelf or table or mounted on a wall. We recommend an area with adequate ventilation, where the temperature remains between 65°F and 86°F. Keep your frame away from humidity, such as showers or humidiers, and from places where it could be splashed or exposed to liquid spills.
